Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

If you don't have health insurance or don't plan to use insurance to pay for your care, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your health care is expected to cost.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

A Good Faith Estimate is a written estimate of the expected charges for health care items and services that are reasonably expected as part of your care.

It is not a bill.

Individual Therapy · $150 · 60-minute appointment

At The Living Room Therapy + Wellness, individual therapy appointments are currently $150 per 60-minute appointment block.

A typical appointment includes approximately 50 minutes of direct therapy and 10 minutes reserved for clinical documentation and administrative tasks.

Who can receive one?

You generally have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate if you:

  • do not have health insurance; or
  • have health insurance but do not plan to use it to pay for your care.

You may also request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling services.

When will I receive it?

If you schedule care at least 3 business days in advance, you may be entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate before your appointment.

Under current federal requirements:

  • If care is scheduled 3–9 business days in advance, the estimate generally must be provided within 1 business day after scheduling.
  • If care is scheduled 10 or more business days in advance, the estimate generally must be provided within 3 business days after scheduling.
  • If you request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling care, it generally must be provided within 3 business days after the request.

A Good Faith Estimate may be provided electronically or on paper according to applicable requirements and your requested method of delivery.

What will my estimate include?

Your Good Faith Estimate will include the expected charges for the items or services reasonably expected to be provided by The Living Room Therapy + Wellness during the identified period of care.

Because therapy needs and treatment duration can change, the estimate is based on information reasonably known at the time it is created.

A Good Faith Estimate is not a contract and does not require you to receive the services listed in the estimate.

What if my bill is higher than my estimate?

If a bill from a provider is at least $400 more than that provider's Good Faith Estimate, you may be eligible to use the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.

Keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate so you can compare it with future bills.
